Week 1 Project - 
Do submit these over the week on or before saturday (17th July) for review and feedback!

1. Build a song structure, record into arrangement view, and export audio

  • Use minimum of four tracks/sounds.
  • Build the first scene (section) as the hook.  
  • Build 2 minimum of 2 additional scenes - Intro & one additional scene.
  • Repeat them as desirable to build a song structure.
  • Record from session to arrangement 
  • Export arrangement as audio file.   
  • Share audio file on this drive link.

2. Learning Music Website by Ableton to get started with the basics of music-making.

- Check out the beats, Melodies, and Chords section for some fun compositional ideas.

3. Reference pdf for scales and chords 


Work-out exercise:


As discussed, Make a musical section in session view with minimum of 4 tracks: Drums, Melody, Harmony & Bass.

  • For harmony use a 4 chord progression.
  • Remember to set the scale and tempo.
  • Explore sound choices.
  • Explore some of the clip properties to manipulate your patterns.
  • Manipulate grids and play with note durations (optionally try triplet grids).
